Warm & Cool Neutral Looks with Naked2 Palette

January 18, 2012 12:06 am · Posted by She Shops Makeup

Hey Everyone,

This post is a week old because they were the looks I wore last week to work using my newly acquired Naked2 Palette. As I mentioned, the Naked2 Palette has got a good variety of warm, cool, light and dark neutral shades which are perfect for different occassions. I also tested out the brushes that came with the palette and on the whole, am pretty satisfied, except that I thought the eye shadow brush was a little too narrow so I found myself having to dip into the palette more often than I would normally do.

My favourite shade of the entire palette has got to be Tease. It is a matte nude color with a pink undertone which is not too striking and conspicuous. The beauty of this shade is it's versatility and wearability. I am guessing most people would use this as a blending color at the crease as it's very close to skin color and allows for a gradual transition between crease and highlight in the case of a smokey eye.

WARM LOOK

Here, I tried using only this color all over my eyelid, patting on more color on the outer crease to give the eye some dimension. The color was then blended using the blending brush that came with the palette to create a natural gradient. This color is great because it is extremely buildable without looking tacky. Since this color was matte, I used a shimmery highlighter (Bootycall) to brighten up the eye.

To emphasize the eyes, I lined it with the blackest pencil eyeliner I have ever owned - the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil in PERVERSION!

I have had this eyeliner for ages but never used it till now - it came with 14 other pencils, part of the Urban Decay 15th Year Anniversary Eye Pencil collection as a new limited edition color. The good people at Urban Decay have recently launched this color as part of their regular range, so YAY! for those who love really dark, long lasting pencil liner.

On my face, I added some dimension with my Bobbi Brown Bronzer and MAC highlighter. I will list all the items used below.

COOL LOOK

For the cool neutral look, I decided to go with the colors Verve, Foxy and Pistol - both with grey undertones. Last week was pretty horrible at work, so the grey really reflected how I felt inside!

It was a very basic light (yes, very very light) smokey grey eye fit for work. I simply patted Verve on the inner 2/3 of the eyelid and blended Pistol on the outer corners of the eyes and added Foxy as a highlight. Products used on the face were exactly the same as the Warm Look except the eye colors. Oh! I almost forgot, I used a grey Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil in Uzi.

I shall do another post on Day vs Night look with the palette soon.

Thanks for looking!

@dooey89 Thanks babe Smiling
@unikgal Thanks! You should try, it's really easy, just 2 colors + eyeliner.
@musicplayson Thanks!! I attribute it to the foundation - it's really good and it lasts all day.
@icyabstract Hehe thanks Smiling I tend to wear warm most of the time for work but was surprised the cool looked pretty decent as well.
